NWEMF was founded in 1977 and its membership is drawn from amateur and professional musicians, most of whom live in the North West of England.

Our aim is to promote interest in the study and informed performance of early music, especially Renaissance and Baroque.

Our principal current activities are:

bulletto organise Early Music Workshops for singers and instrumentalists in venues in Flintshire, Cheshire, Merseyside, Manchester, Lancashire and Cumbria usually on Saturdays

bulletto run an annual Summer School of Renaissance Music in Ambleside.
